My Childhood Winter ( Aditi Das Bhowmik )



I was born in a city cold,
This is what I myself told,
No one ever felt that way,
Frozen winds did never sway.

My childhood memories of winter, not very fine,
I hated the time to dine,
For washing hands with chilled water,
Before having my delicious supper.

Also winter brought me aches and pains,
In my tooth and down the throat lane,
My hands and feet felt like ice,
Nothing could make their temperature rise.

But I enjoyed my hot and crispy fries,
Excellent in the climate of cold and ice,
I loved the quilt and it charm,
Which kept me always hot and warm.

I also loved the winter’s sun,
Soothing all, full of fun,
Now I miss my winter days,
Childhood winter was perfect in its place
