Plight of Stars ( Smita Dey Tarafder )

Rebelling on the dark ocean of the endless mysterious cloak of night,

Seeking the surface of hidden horizon with vision of sleepless plight,

To watch the world cradled in the night’s delicious slumber,

Guards, the sentinel like stars adorning their shining armor.

So deep, conscious less and peacefully wrapped,

The world’s soul amidst deep sleep while dawn was trapped

By the silent skies with mourning clouds to prevent,

The falling stars on the world, out of their torment.

The ship of the night’s ocean, the idol, the moon

Along its cold, nightly waves traverses soon

Witnessing the duties performed by screeching nighthawks,

When reflection of stars on lake waters to the glowworm talks.

The sky stars standing silent, somber and true in pain,

I hear them whisper to the moon while their tears cause rain,

“Crimson aura on the horizon's canvas did not revive,

For the Golden rays of day‘s paint brush is yet to arrive”.
